Obituary of Dennis L. Davis
BedfordDennis L. Davis, 71, went home Saturday, September 19th at 4:33 P.M. to be with the Lord, at his residence. He had been in failing health for several years. He will be deeply missed, especially by his loved ones and friends. He was a great husband, dad and grandfather.
He was born, September 9, 1938 in Lawrence County. He was the son of Fred and Ida P. (Gyger) Davis. He married Patricia Sue Bough on May 6, 1962 and she survives. He retired from Ford Motor Company of Indianapolis after 37 years as a supervisor. He attended Indiana University, was a member of Gulletts Creek Church, Bedford Lodge #14 F&AM., Past Master 1971, Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, Murat Shine of Indianapolis, York Rite of Greenfield, Past Master Club of Lawrence County, Shara Grotto of Indianapolis, Gun Club of Indianapolis, Honorary member of Cumberland Lodge of Indianapolis and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, one son, Scott D. Bough of Bedford, his father, Fred Davis, one granddaughter, Kylee Michelle Bough, one grandson, Tanner Scott Bough and his wife, Danielle, one great grandson, Tanner Scott Bough, one sister, Patsy Tincher of Indianapolis, two aunts, June Ballard of Kokomo and Mary Esther Craig and husband Don Craig of Bedford, Several nieces and nephews. Funerals services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 25, 2009 from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Lewis Williams officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with military rites accorded at the graveside by American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 24th and from noon until the hour of the service on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Day & Carter Mortuary. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Thursday by members of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F&AM.
