Obituary of Maxine Curry
Bedford-Maxine Curry, 98, a former resident of Owensburg and Indianapolis passed away at 6:20 A.M. on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born February 11, 1913 in Monroe County she was the daughter of Craig and Thursa (Sparks) Sare. She married Howard E. (Gene) Curry on December 25, 1940 and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1996. She was a member of the Owensburg Baptist Church, and a 1931 graduate of Bloomington High School. She had worked as a secretary for J.M. Hoadley Stone Co. in Bloomington, Real Silk Hosiery Co. in Indianapolis and retired from Keystone Lighting in Castleton, IN.
Survivors include, her daughter: Janet Atkins and her husband David of Owensburg; one granddaughter: Sally Miller and her husband Jeff of Mitchell; two great grandsons: Collin Miller and Dillon Miller both of Mitchell; one brother: Jack Sare of New Castle, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and four brothers: Walter, Rufus, Richard, and Donald Sare. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Kenny Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the South Union Cemetery in Monroe County. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 24th and from Noon until the service hour on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
