Obituary of Sandy Cummins

Overland Park, KS Sandy Cummins, 53, of Overland Park, formerly of Indiana, passed away on March 4, 2004 at her residence. Born March 4, 1951 in Indiana, she was the daughter of Clifford and Mary (Sears) Merrell. She began her career as a respiratory therapist, lovingly raised her family, and then became a claims adjuster for Universal/Farmers Insurance Companies. Sandy worked in the insurance field for over eighteen years until her retirement. Survivors include her companion, Michael Duffy; daughters, Samantha Runyon Green and her husband, David, Jennifer Runyon, Jackie Boucher and her husband, Gabe; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Runyon, Lillian Boucher and Caleb Green; her mother, Mary Merrell; four sisters, Amy Bartlett and her husband, Tom, Becky Lomasney and her husband, Pat, Melissa Wolford and her husband, Kenny and Mary Gerteisen and her husband, Matt, two brothers, Tim Merrell and his wife, Sue and Mark Merrell and his wife, Marilyn; a sister-in-law, Fay Whiteside and her husband, Marty and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Information Services were conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, March 8th at the Maple Hill Funeral Home in Kansas. A graveside committal service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 10th at the Hamer Cemetery in Spring Mill State Park near Mitchell, IN. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
