Obituary of Mary Ann Culhan

Bedford Mary Ann Kern Culhan, 90, of Bedford, died at 9:20 am on Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital. Born August 12 1922 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Samuel R. and Dollis Lucille (Watson) Stevens. She married Thomas R. Kern in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She retired as a file clerk for the U.S. Government. She had worked at McDonalds Jewelry, Smiths Jewelry and Kerns Restaurant and Motel. She was an avid euchre player and enjoyed bingo. She was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion Gillen Post #33 and the Moose Lodge. Survivors include a son, Mark Raymond Kern of Bedford; a sister, Patsy Ruth Smith and husband, Lester of Washington, IN; brother-in-law, Wayne Kern of Bedford; three nephews, Steve Robbins Sam and Kent Smith; four nieces, Rebecca Jesse, Cathy Hackney, Donna Lou Tlustek and Dianna Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Martha Jane Robbins. Funeral Information Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Cremation will follow. A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 27th at Green Hill Cemetery with Elmer Reynolds officiating.
