Palm Harbor, FL Gloria E. Haws, 68, of 1991 Orange Court, Dunedin, Fl, formerly of Bedford, IN, died at 3:45 am on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Countryside Haven Living Center in Palm Harbor, Fl. Born August 6, 1935 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of John R. and Mabel (Beasley) Smith. She married William Henry Haws on April 10, 1970 (deceased July 25, 1988). She was a teacher and Social Worker. She retired from the Lawrence County Division of Family & Children Services and was a member of Pinhook Christian Church. Survivors include one brother, John Michael Smith of Dunedin, FL; one sister, Dorothy Maxine Walton of Salem, IN; nephews, John Kennedy Smith and his wife, Barbie, Steven Thomas Smith and his wife, Barb and Richard Douglas Smith and his wife, Julie and Steven Joe Padgett; nieces, Kimberly Sue NeSmith, Dotty Pearl Walton and her husband, James Mosely and Mabel Ann Walton Curran and her husband, George, Anne M. Smith and her husband, Herb, Sarah Ellen Smith, Melanie Shay Haws Hacker and her husband, Joe, Susan Renae Brennan and her husband, John; brother-in-law, Kenneth C. Haws and his wife Erma; sister-in-law, Geraldine Padgett and her husband, Harold.Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Burrell G. Smith. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, July 23rd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Pinhook Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
