Obituary of Dorotha M. Collins

Bedford Dorotha M. Collins, 90, of Leatherwood Rd. in Bedford, died at 6:05 am on Monday, June 16, 2003 at the Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown, IN. Born September 1, 1912 in Anderson, IN, she was the daughter of Elmer E. and Mary Glenn (Shanklin) Reed. She married George A. Collins on December 5, 1932 and he died on April 21, 1981. She was retired as the executive secretary for the U.S. payroll division of Fort Harrison and a member of the retired federal employees. She was a member of the Post Road Christian Church in Indianapolis. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Judith Prosch of Mooresville; Carolyn Sue Fisher of Tennessee and Linda Jean Monroe of Missouri; three sons, George Reed Collins of Indianapolis; David Lee Collins of Fincastle, IN and Charles Ivor Collins of Bedford; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Mildred Schwere of Muncie, IN and one brother, Robert Reed of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Charles and John Reed and one sister, Margarette Westfall. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at_10:00 am on Friday, June 20th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor John Dodd and John Wisley officiating. Committal service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday at Blakesburg Cemetery in Fincastle, IN. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
