Obituary of Opal Melvin Cobb

Bedford Opal Melvin Cobb, 65, of Bedford, passed away at 9:00 pm on April 16, 2007 when he fell into Salt Creek. Born November 28, 1941 in Bedford, he was the son of Melvin B. and Grace (Stigall) Cobb. He married Fran E. Stafford on July 2, 1960 and she survives. He was a plasterer and a farrier for thirty-eight years. He was a member of the Plasterers Union Local #741 and the Bedford Baptist Temple. Surviving with his wife, Fran are two sons, Wayne Cobb of Bedford and Vince Cobb and his wife, Tammy of Mitchell; one daughter, Paula (Cobb) Morris and her husband, Tim of Paoli; four brothers, Sonny Cobb and his wife, Rita of Illinois, Webster Cobb and his wife, Caroline of Mitchell, Jim Cobb and his wife, Rhonda of Illinois, Donny Cobb and his wife, Phyllis of Bedford; one sister, Darlene Hudson and her husband, John of Bedford; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Beulah Burnette and Katherine Oliver; one brother, Richard Cobb. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 18th at the Bedford Baptist Temple, 2417 N Street in Bedford with Dr. Steve Goens and Pastor Wayne Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 17th at the Bedford Baptist Temple and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, May 18th at the Bedford Baptist Temple.
