Obituary of Margaret L. Christenberry

Margaret L. Christenberry, 89 of 1140 Camelot Courts, Mitchell, passed away on Friday, January 5th at the Hospitality House in Bedford. Born on March 14, 1917 in Lawrence County, IN she was the daughter of Jesse Lavender and Mollie (Hubbard) Lavender. She first married Ellis Spaulding and he preceded her in death in 1963 she then married Dale Christenberry and he preceded her in death in 1980. She was a homemaker but also worked at Crane and R Street Grocery. She was of Pentecostal Faith. Surviving are two sons: Ronald Spaulding and his wife, Barbara of Mitchell and Gary Spaulding and his wife, Margaret of Paoli; two daughters: Nancy White of Bedford and Julia Fullen and her husband Larry of Bedford; one step daughter: Martha Lipira of Florida; one sister: Ethel Marie Sanders of Seymour and one daughter in law Jeanine Spaulding; grandchildren: Cynthia Miller and her husband, Joe, David White and his wife, Kelly, Dean Fullen and his companion, Zella Reynolds, Tracy Myers and her husband, Dennis, Stacy Miller and her husband, Ed, Brian Fullen and his wife, Missy, Ashley Chastain and her husband, Sam, Jennifer MacDonald and her husband, John; Step grandchildren: Ed Overton and his wife, Bobbie, Sharon Overton, Sheila Flick and her husband, Mike, John David Overton; eleven great grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one daughter in infancy: Mollie Marie Spaulding, two sons, Robert and Larry Spaulding, two step daughters, Georgetta Overton and Kay Howard, one granddaughter, Christina Spaulding, three brothers, Harry, Buck and Henry Lavender, three sisters, Lorene Hall and Ruby Baker and Flossie Lavender in infancy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday, January 8th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. John Wisley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Day & Carter Mortuary on Monday from 1:00 until the hour of service.
