Obituary of Joe W. Chase

Bedford Joe W. Chase, 77, of 5105 U.S. Hwy. 50 E., Bedford, died at 3:18 am on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born June 16, 1929 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Tyree Maurice and Katherine (Hamilton) Chase. He married Delilia L. Myers on June 23, 1948 and she preceded him in death on July 22, 2002. He was a retired truck driver and a farmer. He was a member of the New Hope Church and former member of the Teamsters Union. After his retirement, he was active in the Senior Citizens Club and a local bingo group. Survivors include two sons, Gary Chase and his wife, Sheila; Mike Chase and his wife, Fran; two daughters, Elaine Tarr and her husband, Benny; LuAnn Williams all of Bedford; eight grandchildren, Brandon Chase who is serving in Iraq, Ryan Chase of Terre Haute, Lindsay Hilkey of Bloomington, Tradan Chase of Wilmington, OH, Michael, Tyson and Trevor Chase all of Bedford; Tara Powell of Newburgh, IN; fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and Richard Chase both of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandson, Jacob Ray Powell and one brother, John Chase. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Doug Martin officiating.
