Obituary of Jackie Lee Chaney

Owensburg- Jackie Lee Chaney, 72, of Owensburg died at 2:40 am, on Saturday, March 9, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital. Born October 3, 1934 in Owensburg he was the son of William O. and Lenora (Smith) Chaney. He married Sharon Payne and she survives. He was co-owner of C & H Stone Company in Bloomington, and was a farmer in Owensburg. He was a Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict, and a member of the VFW Post #1686 of Oolitic . Survivors include Sharon, his wife of 50 years; five sons Larry and Aaron Chaney both of Owensburg, Kent Chaney and his wife Teri of Bloomfield, Garry Chaney and his wife Karen of Bloomfield, Andy Chaney and his wife Mary of Springville; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Julia, Jessie, Casey, Chelston, Austin, MaKayla, and Adrienne; one step-grandson Evan; one brother Jerry Chaney and his wife Donna of Williams; two sisters, Wanda Jenkins and her husband Bill of South Bend, and Kay Hudson and her husband Jack of Ellettsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, William Orval, Kenny, and Dennis. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 13th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Kenny Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Owensburg Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the grave by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
