Obituary of Arnold Richard Chandler

Bedford Arnold (Arnie) Richard Chandler, 56, of 334 Kenray Lake Road, Bedford, died at 9:30 am on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at his residence. Born July 8, 1949 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Elza and Beatrice Mae (Colglazier) Chandler. He married Rosalee (Sis) Butcher on August 8, 1970 and she survives. He was employed by Schwermann Trucking, a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea during the Viet Nam War and was a member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion. He was an avid mushroom hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was the worlds greatest pig roaster. He was loved by all and will be missed. Surviving with his wife of Bedford are three sisters, Virginia (Ginny) Hawley and her husband, Robert of Bloomington, Jeannette (Net) Silvers and her husband, Billy of Pinhook, Marsha Ryan and her husband, Rickie of Bedford; one brother, Russell (Rocky) Chandler and his wife, Marilyn of Pinhook;his father and mother-in-law, Herman and Mildred Butcher; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, many special cousins; one great aunt, Nina Colglazier of Bedford; one great uncle, Merla Craig of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 19th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Johnny Johnson and Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Pinhook Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 on Sunday, September 18th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Monday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
