Obituary of Benjamin Edward Cassidy
Bedford-Benjamin Edward Cassidy, 71, of Bedford died a 3:36 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the IU Health Hospice House.
Born June 6, 1943 in Lawrence County he was the son of Joseph and Louisa (McDermen) Cassidy. He married Myla Farlee and she survives. He retired from General Motors and attended the House of Prayer Church.
Survivors include his wife, Myla of Bedford; three sons: Fred Cassidy of Mitchell, Toby Cassidy and his wife Tammy of Bedford, and James Cassidy of Bedford; four grandchildren: Zandra Jones and husband Andrew, Brandon Cassidy and wife Ashley, Shane Cassidy, and Jaylyn Cassidy; two great grandchildren: Chloe and Dakota Cassidy; two sisters: Margaret Brown and husband Richard and Jeanette Nikirk and husband Delvin; one sister in law: Faye Cassidy. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Zachery Cassidy, three brothers: James, Carl, and William Cassidy; two sisters: Catherine Dorsett, and Virginia Ray. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Max Abel officiating. Burial will follow in the House of Prayer Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
