Obituary of Charles Marvin Canada
Bloomington-Charles Marvin (Bud) Canada, 83, of 2983 Bankers Drive Bloomington, IN died at 5:15 am on Sunday, July 29, 2007, at his residence.
Born February 5, 1924 in Oolitic, IN he was the son of Charles T. and Mary Francis (Anderson) Canada. He married Loretta Marie Lewis on July 13, 1945 and she preceded him in death on January 30, 1983. He then married Ginny Rush and she survives. He retired from Central Foundry in Bedford after 22 years and had worked for Bailey Service Company for 20 years prior to going to work at GM. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33 in Bedford, the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F&AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, Murat Temple of Indianapolis, a member of the LA OR MA Shrine club in Bloomington, and a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union.
Survivors include his wife Ginny Canada of Bloomington, two daughters: Rebecca Sue Johnson and her husband Jack of Bedford, and Monta Rose Salter and her husband Jeff of Monroeville, Alabama; one step-daughter: Peggy Chambers and her husband Steve of Bloomington; two step-sons: Roger Pruett and his wife Marsha of Bloomington, and Michael Pruett of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren: Gregory Johnson, Natalie Qualls, Brian Bedsole; one step-granddaughter Sherry Tritle; seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Loretta Marie Lewis Canada, his parents, and three sisters: Vaunda Hert, Moneva Butler, Pauline Fitzgerald; one step-daughter: Judy Richardson; and three step-grandchildren: Randy Richardson, Ben Alexander, and Greg Pruett. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 31st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day and Carter Mortuary in Bedford with Rev. George Sites officiating. Burial will follow Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, July 30th at the Day and Carter Mortuary
