Obituary of Viola S. Jackson

BedfordViola S. Jackson, 82, of 77 Cindy Lane, Bedford, passed away at 11:06 A.M. January 10th at the Bedford Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born December 22, 1921 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Elmer Smith and Lela (Williamson) Smith. She was a homemaker and housewife and a life long member of Faith Mission Church where she was active prior to her illness. She married Charles C. (Bud) Jackson on July 13, 1939 and he survives. Surviving with her husband, Charles is two daughters, Connie Sue Arnold and her husband, Edward E. of Huntsville, AL and Linda Kay Gentner and her husband, Craig of Freemont, CA; two grandsons, Eddie and Chuck Arnold of AL, three great grandchildren, Sarah, twin boys Tyler and Spencer all of AL, three step grandchildren, Scott, Travis and Michael Gentner; one brother, Norman Smith of Oolitic; three sisters, Alma Smith of Bedford; Audrey Myers of Bedford; and Betty Jo Taflinger of Mitchell. She was preceded in death by one sister, Agnes Meadows; two brothers, Lewis and Leslie Smith. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 14th at the Faith Mission Church with Rev. Leonard Sankey and Rev. Steve Stetler officiating. Entombment will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the Faith Mission Church from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 13th. Funeral services are entrusted to the Day & Carter Mortuary.
