Obituary of Raymond Cain

Bedford Raymond (Pete) Cain, of Bedford, died at 1:03 am on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at IU Health Bedford Hospital. Born October 22, 1925 in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Eathel and Grace (Grow) Cain. He married Marguerite (Flinn) Cain October 18, 1947 and she survives. Pete retired from General Motors. He was a World War II Navy veteran and the former Commander of the American Legion Gillen Post 33 and the V.F.W. Post 1686. He was a Mason and a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. Pete was an avid fisherman, camper and loving Grandfather Survivors include his wife, Marguerite of Bedford; two daughters, Cathy Gilbert of Bloomington, and Tammy Wronowicz and husband, John of Bloomington; a daughter-in-law, Jeri Cain of Bedford; five grandchildren, Phillip Cain of Bedford, Chris Gilbert and wife Shannon of Maryland, Shad Gilbert of Bloomington, Mandy Allen of Bedford, and Brittany Phillips of Bloomington; ten great-grandchildren, Kelsi Allen, Kensi Allen, Christopher Gilbert, Alex Gilbert, Laney Gilbert, Alexis Nelson, Bowen Phillips, Shayla Sandoval, Brylee Holguin, and Avrianna Holguin; three brothers, Mike Cain and wife Jan of Bedford, Jason Cain of Bedford, and John and wife Terry of California; two sisters, Lucille Richardson of California, and Geraldine Clark and husband Jim of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-mother, Francis Cain; a son, Phil Cain; one brother, Richard Beasley and five sisters, Mildred Enochs, Rita Jarzombek, Linda Walker, Janice Cain, Marilyn Cain and Christine Bailey. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 6th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Military rites being conducted by the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, December 5th and noon until the time of service on Tuesday at the mortuary.
