Obituary of Wilford D. Jackson

Oolitic-Wilford D. Jackson, 83, of 305 West 10th Street Oolitic died at 7:03 P.M. on Friday, November 2, 2007 at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford. Born August 25, 1924 he was the son of Sherman and Lillian Frowe(Duke) Jackson. He married Patricia A. Kirkman on April 27, 1947 in Sullivan,IN and she survives. He was a pipefitter for 18 years at General Motors in Bedford. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church, US Army veteran serving in WWII, a past president of the BNL Band Parents, a Red Coat Volunteer at Dunn Memorial Hospital, and a past Sunday school teacher. He loved the outdoors and working with his hands, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren. Surviving with his wife Patricia are his children; Ruth Ann Harris and her husband Keith of Bedford, and Guy W. Jackson and his wife Janet of Evansville; one granddaughter Amy Leigh Kendall and her husband Donnie; three grandsons Daniel, Patrick, and Peter Jackson; two brothers, Gary Jackson, and Dean Jackson; four sisters, Dora Knight, Myra Shipman, Gloria Kruchten, Jewell Sweeney. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Ellen Lynn Jackson, and one son, Steven Ross Jackson, two brothers, Tunis Paul Jackson, and Cloyce Jackson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 6th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. David Ferry & Rev. Bob Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens; with military rites will be accorded at the grave by the American Legion Gillen Post 33.
