Obituary of Helen Geraldine Burchard
Tunnelton Helen Geraldine Burchard, 78, of Tunnelton, formerly of Williams, IN, died at 2:02 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born December 29, 1928 in Williams, she was the daughter of Marvin and Bessie D. (Fields) Dorsett. She married Arlie Burchard on January 12, 1951 and he survives. She was a graduate of the Williams High School with the class of 1947. She retired in 2005 as the curator for the Lawrence Co. Historical Museum. She was a member of the Old Union Christian Church, the John Wallace Chapter of D.A.R., and the Lawrence County Historical Society.
Survivors include her husband, Arlie of Tunnelton; three sons, Robert Dean Burchard and his wife, Sandra Kay, Don and Bill Burchard all of Williams; one daughter, Arlisha Charles and her husband, Scott of Tunnelton; one brother, Paul Dorsett of Bedford; one sister, Betty Howell of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Trisha and Eric East, Kenneth, Tracy, Jason, Donnie Burchard and Angela Bellush; six great grandchildren, Shane Coulter, Sierra, Brianna, Victoria and Ryder Burchard, Tyler Bellush; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Bill, Marvin Leroy and Marion Dorsett; one sister, Nelda Gould. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 25th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bob Kirkman and Larry King officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 24th and from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Wednesday, April 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
