Obituary of Michael R. Allen

Oolitic Michael R. Allen, 59, of 601 Vista Dr., Oolitic, IN, died at 1:30 pm on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born January 7, 1951 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Lawrence Raymond and Dorothy Bernice (Johnson) Allen. He married Susie Ridge on April 14, 1994 and she survives. He retired from the INDOT as quality controller. Survivors include his wife, Susie, of Oolitic; two children, David Tatro of Oolitic and Heather Speer and husband, Larry of Bedford; six grandchildren, Ashley and Shelby Tatro, Tiauna, Coleman, Tyler and Amanda Speer; one brother, John Allen and wife, Sharron of Bedford; two nieces, Kelly McClure and husband, Doug of Washington, IN and Melissa Levine and husband, Rick of Ft. Wayne, IN; a great nephew, Curtis McClure; a great niece, Allison Levine; great great nephew, Jack McClure; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Travis Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 23rd and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, June 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
