Obituary of Frances C. Brown

Bedford Frances C. Brown, 81, of 705 14th Street, Bedford, died at 4:05 pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born September 6, 1926 in Rowlett, KY, she was the daughter of Roe and Nellie M. (Thornton) Woodard. She joined the Woodsonville Baptist Church at an early age. She married George T. Brown on September 7, 1940 and he survives. She retired from Indiana Bell after nineteen years of service. Frances was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Bedford where she had served on the mission board, served as an usher and as church clerk for many years. She was a member of T.O.P.S., Friday Night Social Bowling League and Seniors Bowling League. Surviving with her husband, George are three daughters, Georgenia Curry of Louisville, KY, Mary Rowlett and her husband, James of Munfordville, KY, Phyllis R. Wagers and her husband, Forrester of Bedford; four sons, William T. Brown and his wife, Sharon of Bloomington, Edward L. Brown and his wife, Marsha, Clarance H. Brown and his wife, Darlene all of Bedford, Rick Brown and his wife, Tammy of Mitchell, a sister-in-law, Mattie Thornton of Bedford, nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Richard, Clarence, Edward and Robert Henry; a son-in-law, W.L. Curry. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 5th at the Woodsonville Baptist Church in Munfordville, KY. with Rev. Sylvester Skyes and Rev. Donald Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Woodsonville Memorial Gardens in Munfordville, KY. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 5th at the Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY.
