Obituary of John Thomas Brown

Williams John Thomas Brown, 82, of Williams, died at 6:20 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 22, 1929 in Martin Co., he was the son of Ralph and Agnes Levina (Wininger) Brown. He first married Annabelle Sims and she preceded him in death. He then married Mary Stuart on December 22, 2003 and she survives. He retired as a supervisor for Indiana University and was a farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a I.U. Alumni and a member of Crossroads Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Williams; a daughter, Elizabeth Wilcox of Mitchell; two step-sons, Michael Bruner of Williams and David Bruner (Janette) of Bloomington; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; a son, Russell; a sister, Bonnie Moore; two brothers, Robert and Eugene (Junior). Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 12th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Williams Church of Christ Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 11th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, November 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
