Obituary of Rilla Jo Allen

Bedford Rilla Jo Allen, 69, our beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord at 4:07 am on Sunday, February 4, 2007. Born March 30, 1937 in Owensburg, she was the daughter of Herbert and Olive (Dawson) Baker. Rilla Jo graduated from Shawswick High School with the class of 1955. She married her soul mate, Marvin L. Allen on October 19, 1956 and preceded her in death on August 17, 2006. Rilla Jo was an abstractor in Lawrence and Monroe counties for over thirty years. She was the former owner of A & B Trophies and was a former member of the D.A.R. She attended the Oolitic United Methodist Church and was an avid bowler. She will be greatly missed by two daughters, Dana L. Pruett and her husband, Philip of Oolitic and Debbie Jo Ikerd and her husband, Steve of Bedford; one son, Darren Allen and his wife, Theresa of Springville; grandchildren, Michael Pruett, Craig Pruett, Amanda Jo Ikerd, Cody Ikerd, Kayla Jo Allen and Benjamin Sparks; great grandchildren, Seth and Shelby Pruett; and her beloved cats, Missy and Annie. Rilla Jo was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 8th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Dan Voorhies officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
