Obituary of John Young

Oolitic John Young, 73, of Oolitic died at 9:00 pm on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at his residence. Born November 3, 1937 in Broadwell, OH, he was the son of John Herbert and Kathryn (Keirns) Young. He married Sonia Staley on August 29, 1959 and she survives. He retired from NWSC Crane and was a member of the Bedford Baptist Temple. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife, Sonia, of Oolitic; his children, John L. Young and wife, Connie of Poulan, GA, Robin Kinsman and husband, Mark, of Lexington, IN, Kathy Helm and husband, Mike, of Lafayette, IN, Sherry Jones and husband, Brian of Bedford; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim Young; a son, George Young and two granddaughters. Funeral Information Funeral services will conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bud Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Monday, December 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
