Obituary of William C. Young

Heltonville, William C. Charlie Young, 72, of 1959 Todd Lane in Heltonville, died at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20th, at the Paoli Health & Living Center in Paoli, IN. Born on July 8, 1931 in Virginia he was the son of William Ray and Ester Marie (Collins) Young. He married Mary Ann Deckard on March 13, 1993 and she survives. He was a carpenter and owner of Young Construction and Charlies Forms plus developed Youngs Additions 1 & 2 where there are two streets named after him, Sir Charles Drive and Sir William Drive. He also was co-owner of Bid-lo and Hoosier State Construction Companies. He was the former president of the Lawrence County Home Builders Association and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Marines. He attended the Mundell Christian Church. Surviving with his wife, Mary Ann Young of Heltonville, is one daughter: Mara Eisele of Bedford; one son: Charles Dwayne Young of Salem, IN; two step-sons: Doug and Scott Fleetwood both of Heltonville; four grandsons: Steven Nicholas of Bedford, Brad Young of West Baden, IN, Brian Young of Leesville and Zachary Eisele of Bedford; seven step-grandchildren: Britney Fleetwood of Medora, Lacie, Harrison, Alexzander, Brock Fleetwood, Bailey and Austin Bailiff all of Bedford; two great-grandchildren: Jaykob and Alexys Nicholas both of Bedford; two sisters: Virginia Helton of Medora and Darlene Silence of Medway, Ohio; four brothers: Ralph Young of Medora, Robert Young of Columbus, Paul Young of Seymour and Kenneth Young of Norman, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23rd, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with John Wisley officiating. Burial will follow at Gilgal Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the grave by the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22nd, and from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
