Obituary of Catherine York

Mitchell Catherine York, 76, of 2464 Stonington Road, Mitchell, died at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at her residence. Born April 18, 1930 in French Lick, IN, she was the daughter of Loren and Esther (Moore) Groff. She first married Frank Parsons and she then married Willis E. York, both preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a former member of Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene and attended Bride of Christ Church in Mitchell. Survivors include: eight children, Rosemary Yother of Orleans, Frank Parsons of Huntingburg, Linda Ray of Cloverdale, Charlie York of Seymour, Debbie Neely of Bedford, Connie York of Fayetteville, Ray York of Mitchell, Patricia Milligan of Mitchell, a companion, Ed Asbury of Mitchell, eight stepchildren: Eddie York, Cecil York, Jerry York, David York and Marsha Webb, Sue Baker, David Asbury, Tommy Asbury, three sisters, Rosemary Brown, Brenda Markham, Betty Carter, one brother, James Groff, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: both husbands, parents, one one stepson, Johnny York, one sister, June Hall, two brothers, Jack and Kenneth Groff, one grandson, Raymond York, Jr., one step great granddaughter, Heather Rose York, two stepchildren in infancy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the mortuary.
