Obituary of Mary E. Wright-Ford
Linton Mary E. (Nickless) Wright-Ford, 90, of Linton, IN, formerly of Bedford, died at 3:30 am on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Glenburn Homes in Linton, IN following a one year illness.
Born September 19, 1922 in Oolitic, she was the daughter of Hershel and Ruth (Robinson) Nickless. She was a graduate of Oolitic High School with the class of 1940. She married Norman Wright on June 8, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1997. She later married Howard Ford on December 31, 2004 and he survives. She retired from RCA in 1987 and was a homemaker. She attended Tabernacle of Praise.
Survivors include her husband, Howard, of Linton; a son, Vernon Wright and wife, Rebecca of Bedford; a daughter, Wenonah Banks and husband, Ronnie of Oolitic; a brother, Jackie Nickless and wife, Mary of Loogootee; two sisters, Patricia Roberts of Bedford, Gloria Fish and husband, Gary of Oolitic; four grandsons, Theron Wright and wife, Debra, Brandon Wright and wife, Brandi, Darrin Banks and Holly all of Bedford, Bradley Wright and wife, Kristi of Desloge, MO; a granddaughter, Michelle Cain and husband, Jason of Bedford; two step-daughters, Lea Anne Camp and husband, Melvin of Petersburg, Lisa Brown and husband, Bruce of Columbia, MO; nine great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Norman Wright; two sons, Steven Wright and another in infancy; one daughter, Norma Kay Wright; two sisters, Maxine Luttrell and Larna June Smith and a brother, Robert Nickless. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 31st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with James McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceport Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
