Obituary of Fern Wray

Bedford- Fern Wray 81, of 152 Buddha Road in Bedford died at 1:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at her residence. Born April 24, 1926 she was the daughter of Chester Lee and Margaret (Isom) Spainhourd. She married Robert Vernon Wray in May of 1956 and he preceded her in death in February 2003. Fern was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed hunting mushrooms on her farm, reading, bird watching, and kittens. We will all miss her popcorn balls at Halloween and her delicious Christmas cookies. Survivors include one son; Anthony D. Wray and his wife Amy of Buddha; one daughter Melanie Shoults and her husband Aaron of Mitchell; seven grandchildren: Timothy Wray and his wife Melissa, Todd Wray and his wife Stephanie, Ted Wray and his wife Alicia, Tyler Wray, Adam Shoults, Thomas Wray, and Evan Shoults; four great grandchildren: Madilyn Wray, Benjamin Wray, Josiah Wray, and Kaitlyn Wray; one sister Margaret Brock; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Carl Spainhourd, and one sister Evelyn Turner Schafer. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 25th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
