Obituary of Elta D. Woodsmall

Mitchell Elta D. Woodsmall, 74, of Mitchell, died at 12:55 am on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Mitchell Manor. Born July 21, 1934 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Quinton Earl Johnson and Vena Viola (Brown) Bridwell. She married Norman Rex Woodsmall on June 28, 1977. She was employed at NWSC Crane where she retired in 1975. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War and was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Mitchell. Survivors include her husband, Norman of Mitchell; three daughters, Kimberly Clifton and her husband, Frank, Kelly Beavers and her husband, Carl all of Martinsville, Karol Brooks and her husband, Jim of Mooresville; one son, Kevin Van Meter and his wife, Cindi of Mooresville; one brother, Denver Leon Johnson and his wife, Carol of Springfield, MO; three sisters, Joyce Teter and her husband, Karl, Pat Reynolds and her husband, Bill and Norma Edington all of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Coulter of Mitchell, Carl Bucky Beavers of Martinsville, Nathan Beavers and his wife, Erin of Roachdale, Natalie Brim and her husband, Bill of Mitchell, Kimberly Enochs and her husband, Dustin of Bloomington, Jessica Peyton and her husband, Robbie of Mooresville, Tia Passmore of Mooresville, Christopher Spears and his wife, Amanda of Ohio, Deanna Bohenkamp and her husband, Seth of Mitchell; twenty-three great grandchildren, Katilyn and Uriah Stickney, Cameron Coulter, Ashton, Clayton, Matthew and Ashley Beavers, Jacklyn Merry, Zoey and Zane Brim, Brittany, Brayden and Gracie Beavers, Caleb and Hannah Payton, Jordan Parks, Keelie Sims, Josie and Dustin Enochs, Jr., Grayson Spears, Jonathon, Logan and Landon Bohenkamp and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Glenn Bridwell; two brothers, Don and Dwight Pete Johnson; one sister, Venita Prunty and one great grandson, Cole Brim. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 25th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Steve Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Run Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 24th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, July 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Donations Information .
