Obituary of Arnold Williamson

Bedford Arnold Williamson, of Bedford, passed away at 6:39 am on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his residence. Born July 22, 1927 in Bloomington, he was the son of Arnold E. and Frances (Henderson) Williamson. He married Lois Hendrix and she preceded him in death on May 27, 2012. Arnold was a graduate of Bloomington High School and retired as a die maker at General Motors after forty-two years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a sixty-two year member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge and a fifty-two year member of York Rite. During retirement, Arnold enjoyed fishing, Indiana University basketball, wood working and maintaining his backyard swimming pool. In addition, Arnold and his wife, Lois hosted an annual pig roast for family and friends at their residence for twenty-five years. Survivors include a daughter, Connie Ray (Bill) of Carmel, IN; sons, Mike Williamson of Poway, CA, Mark Williamson (Peggy) of Bedford; son-in-law, Dan Cook of AZ; grandchildren, Michael Conley of MN, Melissa Chouinard (Jason) of AZ, Jennifer Emmerson (Rob), Brian Ray (Misti), Nathanael Williamson, Brad Ray (Laura) all of Indiana; Max and Jesse Williamson of CA; eleven great grandchildren, Preston Conley, Tabatha, Arabella and Sophia Chouinard, Lauren and Audra Emmerson, Jace Tomlinson, Brianna and Porter Ray, Myles and Madelyn Ray. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; daughter, Debby Cook; a grandson, Jeremiah Williamson; brothers, Paul and Ed Williamson; sisters, Frances Ratts, Estelle Knoy, Elizabeth Ratts and Helen Ridge. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Mark Hafenbreidel officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary where Masonic services will be conducted at 7:00 pm.
