Obituary of Winfred Wells
Springville Winfred O. Wells, 92, of 2566 Old Farm Road, Springville, IN, died at 12:19 am on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the StoneBridge Health Campus.
Born October 25, 1916 in Avoca, he was the son of Justus B. and Mary Ann (Robison) Wells. He married Jeanette McDonald and she preceded him in death in 1994.He later married Elizabeth Turner and she survives. He retired as a truck driver for Crulo Trucking and was a school bus driver at Needmore. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and former member of the I.O.O.F.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Springville; 1 daughter, Janet Endris and her husband, Mike of Avoca; four step-children, Robert Turner and his wife, Marilyn K., Judith Barrett and her husband, Bob all of Heltonville, Loretta Fields and her husband, Wayne of Springville, Michael Turner and his wife, Norma of Heltonville;four grandchildren, Paula Ikerd and her husband, Dave, Carla Brock and her husband, Dan, Wendy Scherschel and her husband, Eric and Thomas Endris and his wife, Kelli; several step-grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; one brother, Heubert Wells of Columbus, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great granddaughter, Jessica Beretta Endris; three brothers, Walter, Leonard and Clifford Wells; three sisters, DeOma May, Estus Bush and Inez Evans and his first wife, Jeanette Wells. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 18th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kenny Waldon officiating. Burial will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Avoca. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
