Obituary of Charles Daniel Webster

Bedford Charles Daniel Webster, 80, of Bedford, died at 8:15 pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at his residence surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Born October 9, 1923 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Richard (Vet) Mabel (Stevens) Webster. He married Anna Catherine Johnson on May 29, 1947 and she survives. He retired from Central Foundry and was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple, LaOrMa Shrine Club, American Legion Gillen Post #33, and a long-time volunteer at the Bedford Boys Club. Surviving with his wife, Anna Catherine, are one daughter, Pamela Sanders and her husband, Tom of Bedford; two sons, Daniel Webster and his wife, Susan of Bedford, Barry Webster and his wife, Michele of Evansville; four sisters, Madie Allen and Helen Webster both of Bedford; Frances Priddy and her husband, Robert of Rushville; Nancy Hardin and her husband, Charles of Bloomington; two brothers, John D. (Jay) Webster and his wife, Martha of California, James Webster and his wife, Shirley, of Indianapolis; ten grandchildren, Kristi Miller and her husband, Gary of Ohio, Amy Fleetwood and her husband, Doug of Bedford, Aaron Sanders and his wife, Angie, of Bedford, Kathy James and her husband, Matthew of Granger, Melissa Webster of Virginia, Mandy Wever and her husband, Josh, of Bedford, Sara Smith of Bedford, Emily, Elizabeth and Kathryn Webster all of Evansville and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosie Priddy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 6th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Curtis Hurley officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Mausoleum. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Friday by members of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by members of American Legion Gillen Post #33.
