Obituary of Clara Bloom

Bedford Clara Beatrice Bee (Armstrong) Bloom, 88, of 2324 I Street, Bedford, died at 9:13 pm on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at her residence. Born June 22, 1918 in Silverville, IN, she was the daughter of Ivan and Nellie (Hall) Armstrong. She first married John G. McIntyre in 1941. She later married William J. Bloom on December 27, 1950 and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1994. She was a graduate of the Bedford High School with the class of 1936. She worked at the Indiana Employment Service in Indianapolis from 1937 to 1939. She was a secretary in the Adjutant Generals Department at Fort Hayes in Columbus, OH from 1940 to 1942. She began work at Indiana Limestone Co., Inc. in April 1947 in various capacities including director, corporate secretary, and secretary to several company presidents beginning with H.H. Sakel and for John D. Tucker for fifteen years prior to her retirement in 1988. She was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church, B.P.O.E. #826 and U.S. Power Squadron. Survivors include one son, Gary McIntyre of Brighton, MI; one grandson, Christopher McIntyre of Midland, MI; one great granddaughter, Makenzie McIntyre of Midland, MI; two nieces, Niki Richards of Franklin, IN and Debbie K. Templeton of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, Leonard Armstrong and one granddaughter, Ava M. McIntyre. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, April 30th at St. Johns Episcopal Church with Father Charlie Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
