Obituary of Winnie M. Wagoner

Bedford Winnie M. Wagoner, 96, a resident of StoneBridge Health Campus, formerly of 2615 Sanders Lane, Bedford, died at 4:42 am on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at her residence following a short illness. Born September 14, 1908 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Seth and Lizzie (Moore) Thomas. She married Wayne Wagoner on February 16, 1925 and he preceded her in death on October 30. 1992. She was a homemaker, a seamstress and a secretary in her husbands insurance office. She was a member of the Midtown Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Kenneth W. Wagoner and his wife, Ruthie of Mitchell; three daughters, Norma Laux and her husband, Jack and Ann Nikirk and her husband, Jim all of Bloomington and Mary Webb and her husband Wilbur of Bedford; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren and one sister, Metta Waggoner of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, Daphne Gerkin, Vashti Purkhiser, Virginia Waggoner and Pauline Bowman and one brother, Perry Thomas. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 18th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Paul Guthrie and Dean Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 17th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
