Obituary of Michael R. Wagner
Bedford-Michael R. Wagner 70, of Bedford died at 3:39 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the IU Health Hospice House.
Born October 11, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of Ray and Norma (Quackenbush) Wagner. He married Patty Barnett on April 1, 1966 and she survives. He retired from General Motors in 2000 as a machine repairman. He was a US Navy veteran 2nd Class Petty Officer serving four years on the USS Samuel B. Roberts. One of his most memorable accomplishments was crossing the Arctic Circle becoming a member of the Royal order of the Blue Nose. Mike enjoyed fishing and cars.
Survivors include his wife Patty of Bedford; his mother: Norma Wagner; one daughter: Anne Stauffacher and her husband Brent of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Aubrey, Caitlyn, and Charlie; one brother: Tim Wagner and his wife Lisa of Bloomington; one uncle: Gilbert Wagner and his wife Betty of Ellettsville; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 on Thursday, January 24th at the Silverville Baptist Cemetery with John Lee officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the grave by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
