Obituary of Metta Mae Waggoner

Bedford Metta Marie Waggoner, 93, of Bedford, died at 6:00 am on Monday, February 21, 2005 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born December 2, 1911, she was the daughter of Seth and Elizabeth (Moore) Thomas. She married Orville Waggoner on August 8, 1932 and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1968. She retired from Sarkes-Tarzian in Bloomington and was a member of the Mid-town Church of Christ in Bedford. Survivors include six children, Roy E. Waggoner and his wife, Sue, Ray E. Waggoner and his wife, Shirley, Sharon Hillenburg and her husband, Larry, Herb Waggoner and his wife, Rita all of Bedford, Jane Mundy and her husband, Doug of Columbus, IN and Bill Waggoner and his wife, Joan of Sebring, FL; twelve grandchildren, Shiela Wood and her husband, Jim, Robert Waggoner, Bradley Waggoner and his wife, Sally, Michael Waggoner and his wife, Laura, John Mundy and his wife, DeAnne, Amy Cone, Cindy Alexander and her husband, Mike, Lori Waggoner, Darren Waggoner and his wife, Mindy, Deidre Deckard and her husband, Greg, Tina Hillenburg and Jim Hillenburg and his wife, Sarah; twenty great grandchildren, Michael McCormick, Amanda Hunter and her husband, Sean, Audra and Anna Waggoner, Lacy and Laken Waggoner, Chelsea and Owen Mundy, Logan, Sarah and Olivia Cone, Kristi Schulte and her husband, Andrew, Jodie Reeves, Evan and Annie Waggoner, Jarod, Drew and Haley Deckard, Chelsea and Evan Hillenburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, James Waggoner (in infancy), one grandson, Rocky Waggoner, one brother, Perry Thomas, five sisters, Vasthi Purkhiser, Daphne Gerkin, Virginia Waggoner, Pauline Bowman and Winnie Wagoner. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 24th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Dean Jackson, Bro. Mike Davis and Bro. Paul Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Church of Christ Cemetery in Williams, IN.
