Obituary of John Edward Blake

Bedford John Edward Blake, 76, of Bedford, died at 1:54 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born October19, 1936 in Bedford, he was the son of Ollen and Nora Etta (Roberts) Blake. He married Ethel Gregory and she survives. He was retired from the City of Bedford Street Department and was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He attended Friendly Bible Church and Crossroads Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Ethel of Bedford; two sons, John Edward Blake, Jr. of Martinsville and Joseph Anthony Blake of Bedford; a granddaughter, Andrea Nicole Blake of Bedford; a sister, Sally Fletcher of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Lisa Joyce Blake. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 5th at Mt. Olive Cemetery with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Friday, April 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
