Obituary of Hubert K. Hunter

Bedford Hubert K. Hunter, 84, of 409 Locust Road, Bedford, died at 11:25 am on Friday, February 13, 2004 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born October 25, 1919 in Lawrence County he was the son of Lawrence and Ona (Speer) Hunter. He was married to Pearl Wade on July 9, 1939 at the Mundell Church by Claude Reuter and she survives. He was a farmer all of his life.He also worked as a mason on numerous buildings throughout the community including the Mundell Church. He was a diamond sawyer in Heltonville and Hoosier Joiner Stone Mills and had worked in the hardwood business. He was a member of the Mundell Christian Church for over seventy years, where he retired as a deacon and served as treasurer for a few years. Surviving with his wife, Pearl, are one daughter, Patricia Atchison and her husband, Marvin of Bedford; one son, Danny Hunter and his wife, Leah Jane of Heltonville; four grandchildren, Shonja Miracle and her husband, David of Bedford; Beth Kern and her husband, David of Illinois; Brad Hunter and his wife, Jamie of Bedford and Becky Lutgens and her husband, Troy of Ellettsville; eight great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; sixteen step-great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Hunter and his wife, Bernadine and one sister, Ruth Whitted all of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Esther Almond and Celia Pearl Myers; two grandsons, Jami Murphy and Greg Hunter and one daughter-in-law, Toni Hunter. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, February 16th at the Mundell Christian Church with Bro. John Wisely officiating. Burial will follow in Mundell Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Monday at the Mundell Christian Church.
