Obituary of Everett L. Hunter

NormanEverett L. Hunter, 71 of 3565 Back Creek Road, Norman, IN passed away at 9:25 AM Saturday, June 26th at Bloomington Hospital in Monroe County. Born June 25, 1933 in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Roy Hunter and Nellie (Cummings) Hunter. He was a retired farmer. He was member of Mundell Christian Church, former Lawrence County Commissioner and a former North Lawrence School Board Member during the schools consolidations. He formerly served the Dunn Memorial Hospital Board and Soil and Water Conservation Board. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army. He married Willabelle E. Brim on May 17, 1952 and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Darlene Atchison and her husband, Donald of Norman and Sharlene Smith and her husband, Philip of Norman; two granddaughters: Carrie Atchison of Lubbock, TX and Carmen Davis and her husband, Joshua of Norman; two grandsons: Derek and Darren Smith both of Norman, one sister: Waneta Holland of Springville and Everetts twin sister: Evelyn Dodds of Arcadia, FL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Ray Hunter and an infant sister: Eva Hunter. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Burial will follow in Mundell Christian Cemetery. Friends may call at Day & Carter on Monday (June 28th) from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
