Obituary of Bettie L. Turner

Bedford- Bettie L. Turner 85, of Bedford died at 11:45 PM on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Mitchell Manor. Born June 25, 1926 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of James Leonard and Stella (Flynn) Martin. She married Ervin D. Turner on July 5, 1941 and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1993. She had worked as a medical assistant at Sunny Acres Rest Home and retired as a Nurses Aide from Dunn Memorial Hospital after 18 years, after her retirement she worked as a private duty caregiver. She attended Free Methodist Church and also Rivers Edge Church. Survivors include two sons: Jack Turner and his wife Norma of Mitchell, and Dennis Turner of Knoxville, TN; six grandchildren: Sandra Clark and her husband Paul of Terre Haute, IN, Judy Turner and her companion Daniel Pinto of Bedford, Terri Scott and her husband Brian of Mitchell, Zachary Turner and his wife Roseanna of Oolitic, Josh Turner of Knoxville, TN, and Tina Reynolds and her husband Chris of Vancouver, WA; nine great grandchildren; two great great grand children; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters: Pauline Jerrells, Dorothy Wright, Juanita Johnson; three brothers: James Martin, Howard Cassidy, and Lloyd Cassidy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 1st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Phil Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
