Obituary of Harold W. Turner
Bedford, Harold W. Tuner, 84, a lifelong resident of rural Lawrence County, was welcomed into the presence of His Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 2nd, at the Bloomington Hospital.
Born on March 20, 1919 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Brada and Rose (Adams) Turner. He married Mary Luallen and she survives.
Harold was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps.
He was a farmer his entire working life, a school bus driver for 46 years, and a member of the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene, where he taught Sunday School for 54 years.
Surviving with his wife of Bedford, are four children: Patty Turner of Bloomington; Terry Turner of Ft. Wayne; Dr. Marsha Turner-Shear of Ellettsville; and Tracy Turner of Lake Forest, IL and Dallas, TX; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; two brothers: Frank and Eithel Turner both of Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6th, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Duane Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, November 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
