Obituary of Anna E. Turner

Bedford Anna E. (Smoot) Turner, 83, of Bedford, died at 4:21 pm on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital. Born June 1, 1931 at Indian Springs in Martin Co., she was the daughter of Russell and Georgia (Curran) Smoot. She married Loris Estil Allen in 1947. She later married Raymond Concannon in 1963 and he preceded her in death. She married James Red Turner in 1985 and he preceded her in death in 1991. She was employed at Sarkes-Tarzian in the Test Department and was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church. Survivors include one son, Paul Allen of Oolitic; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sons, Tony Allen and Phillip Allen; six brothers, Sherman, Henry, Roy, Eugene, Lloyd Bud Smoot and one in infancy; five sisters, Mattie Roberts, Addie Mae Smith, Ethel Carmichael, Mary Greer and Katherine Deckard; a grandson, Tony Ray Allen, Jr. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday, August 20th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
