Obituary of Brian Dale Humphrey
Springville Brian Dale Humphrey, 52, of 2812 Popcorn Road, Springville, IN, died at 2:10 pm on Monday, November 2, 2009 at his residence.
Born May 24, 1957 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Dale and Peggy (Armstrong) Humphrey. He married Tawnya Wagner on January 18, 2008 and she survives. Brian was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School with the class of 1975. He graduated from Purdue University in 1979. He was a self-employed farmer and the Agronomist for the North Lawrence Community Schools and a member of the Springville Feeder Auction Board of Directors from 1983 to present serving as President and manager from 1987 until 2004, Lawrence County Cattlemens Assoc., Lowder Cemetery Board and the Indiana Board of Animal Health Advisory Board from April 2007 until present representing the Livestock marketing sector which is appointed by the Governor. He was a member of various Lawrence County 4-H Clubs and served as leader of the Sheep Club.
Surviving is his loving wife, Tawnya, of Springville; his mother, Peggy, of Springville; three daughters, Holly Carpenter and husband, Kyle of Illinois, Gretchen Brashear and husband, Jason, of Missouri and Samantha Humphrey of Bedford; one son, Chance Humphrey and wife, Becky, of Bedford; one brother, Craig Alan Humphrey and wife, Cindy of Colorado; one sister, Carol Lee Anthony and husband, Dave, of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Abby and Kenley Carpenter, Jaryn and Isaac Brashear, Katelynn and Jenna Wagner and Cameron French; two step-daughters, Jesse French and husband, Ryan of Indianapolis and Nikki Miller and husband, Andrew, of Shelbyville; one step-son, Josh Wagner and wife, Tanya, of Bedford; one brother-in-law, Brett Wagner of Bedford; one sister-in-law, Lisa Mowery and husband, Rick, of Bedford; father-in-law, Bob Wagner of Bedford; mother-in-law, Vonda Wagner of Bedford; five nephews, Aaron Chastain, Brett Humphrey, Colby Mathews, Rick and Bob Anthony; two nieces, Marcy Humphrey and Brooke Wagner. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Humphrey. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 7th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kenny Walden and Joe Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowder Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
