Obituary of Evelyn Louise Tumey

Bedford Evelyn Louise Tumey, 98, of Bedford, died at 5:05 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at her residence. Born February 15, 1913 in Williams, IN, she was the daughter of Hershel and Gladyeth (Ferguson) Bowman. She married John W. Tumey and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a homemaker and a Red Cross volunteer. She was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church, the White Cross and Womens Temperance Society. Survivors include a son, John T. Tumey and wife, Carolyn of Bedford; a brother, Welbon Bowman of Goshen, IN; two grandchildren, Karen Elaine Butler and husband, Jerry of Mitchell and Brian Scott Tumey and wife, Becky of Bedford; three great grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Tumey, Kalee Faith Butler and Kylee Hope Butler; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Donald Earl and Miles Eugene Tumey; five brothers, Gail. Miles, Orley, Buck and Arnold Bowman. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 1st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Travis Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery in Williams, IN. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, October 1st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
