Obituary of Opal E. Trueblood

Bedford Opal E. Trueblood, 91, of 1021 R Street, Bedford, died at 12:50 pm on Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Hospitality House in Bedford. Born November 11, 1915 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Walter L. and Mae (Gerkin) Trueblood. He married Lenna H. Reuter on November 7, 1939 and she preceded him in death on July 15, 2006. After graduating from business college in 1935, Opal began working in the office at Buttercrust Bakery and later became manager. The bakery became Honeycrust Bakery, then Colonial Bakery. In March 1980, Opal retired after forty-five years from the Holsum Bakery. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ and the Bedford Rotary Club where he had perfect attendance for fifty-six years. Survivors include two sons, Jon Trueblood and his wife, Betty of Westerville, OH, Phil Trueblood and his wife, Ann of Diamond Bar, CA; one daughter, Suellen Trueblood Griffith and her husband, Dennis of Bedford; five grandchildren, Susan Doone, Tina Lewis, Ryan Griffith, Allyson Griffith and Gregory Trueblood; five great grandchildren, Kyle Doone, Cody Doone, Connor Lewis, Broderick Lewis and Gavin Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Lenna, of sixty-seven years, two sisters, Mildred McNabb and Cynthia Marie Mundy and one brother, Orville Trueblood. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 10th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Darrell Simon officiating.
