my dad was the best man in the world..he put every single person before himself. i will never understand why he was taken from me but i know he is in a better place. i miss him and think about him every single day. i love him and miss him more than words can describe. he was my best friend my rock my everything. i love you dad and i am so very sorry for the way i treated you in the end. i know you know that you were my best friend and how much i love you. i only wish i would have told you more. i have learned a great lesson with your death. i will never let someone i love so deeply go a day without knowing and hearing what they mean to me. i look forward to the day i get to feel one of your hugs again. to see your smile and hear your laugh. but until then i am going to live my life to the fullest and try to be like you. to be the kind of parent and friend you were. i will make you proud daddy!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!

Woody was such a unique person. He had so many facets, Words seem inadequate to tell about him. He loved people, he looked for the good in life. He had deep committment to God and family. His son and daughter and grandchildren, Mother and dad, brothers and sisters were the most important thing in his life. He was my best friend and he talked endlessly about them..........how much he loved them, the funny and sad stories from their lives, childhood memories of him and chuck singing all those old country songs. He shared with me about the all encompassing love of his mother, the matriarch who held them together. Woody talked about caring for his younger siblings as they were growing up and assisting his mother because they were such a large family. I was fortunate to share in some of the family outings. One of my and woodys favorite things was the family campout. We laughed many times reminiscing how we strugled to put our tent up in the pouring rain one year when we arrived just at dark. Woody was a very sensitive man, I've seen him cry at movies and he would say "I am secure in my masculinity"! These thoughts of Wood would not be comlete without mentioning his love and admiration for the music of Merle Haggard. Wood often talked about how impressed he was that Merle wrote most of his own music. I will never listen to a Merle Haggard song without thinking of Woody. He was a man of deep thought, he read constantly. He read and discussed the Bible with me so many times. He loved to tease and he had such compassion for the human race. I don't understad why God took him from us so early in his life but I trust God who knows all and am at peace knowing God's plan is the perfect plan. To his family I am so sorry for your loss. May the peace of God be with you, and may you find comfort in the wonderful memories Woody left in our hearts. Love, Stella

Skyyla is only 5 years old and not able to write but I know this is what is in her heart. I love you Papaw, we had so much fun together, you did everything with me...........We played dress up and you were my prince and you danced with me, you colored eggs at Easter, you played hide and seek, you took me for walks and carried me over the place where the bugs made me afraid, you built a snow man with me, you even drank my tea at our tea parties. You read books to me and we watched lots of cartoons together. These are just a few of the many things you did with me. You are special to me and I love you. You were not my natural grandfather, but you were the best. Love, Skyyla

Dear Bickers Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I first met Woody when he ran the carpet store on 16th St. and I worked in the Culligan office there. He talked about his family a great deal and loved you all very much, he was very proud of you. He was a nice man and I'm especially sorry that you lost him at such a young age. I will keep you all in my prayers and may God give you comfort and peace.
