Obituary of Genevieve M. Thompson

Fort Ritner-Genevieve M. Thompson, 80, of 34 Jasper McKeaigg Road Fort Ritner, IN passed away at 1:17PM on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born June 26, 1931 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Elmo and Eula (Knowling) Hackney. She married Ralph Dew Thompson on January 27, 1956 and he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fort Ritner United Methodist Church. Survivors include, her husband Dew of Fort Ritner; one daughter: Deanna Thompson of Atlanta, GA; one sister: Betty Horner of Bedford, one brother: Dick Hackney and his wife Sue of Fort Ritner; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Billy Hackney. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kenny Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Dixon Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
