Obituary of Jeannette N. Thompson

Bedford-Jeannette N. Thompson, 82, of 2019 28th Street died at 1:05 pm on Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Core Nursing Home. Born January 28, 1924 she was the daughter of Herschel E. and Violet (Hamilton) Nicholson. She married Clifford Lee Thompson Jr. in 1943. She was a retired purchaser at NSWC Crane after 27 years. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bedford. She was a 1942 graduate from Bedford High School. She was the master of ceremonies at last years class reunion in October. One of her favorite jobs was working as a secretary for the late Mayor Hauck. Survivors include two sisters, Betty Bowden of Bedford, and Wanda DeBolt and her husband Robert of Collegedale, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren Rita Thompson Payton and her husband Alan of Arkansas, Robert Thompson of Bedford, and Roger Thompson and his companion Trish Johnson of Bedford; five great grandchildren Heather Payton of Mitchell, Brittany Payton- Allen and her husband Bobby of Arkansas, Tiffany Payton- Allen and her husband Michael of Arkansas, and Kayla Heady of Bedford; one great great grandson due February of 2007; three nieces Diana Clark and her husband David of Collegedale, Tennessee, Twinkle Cummings of Bedford, Trenace Orender and her husband Bernie of Plainfield; three great nieces Jennifer Towles and her husband Jamey of Tennessee, Stephanie Clark of Tennessee, and Melinda Armstrong and her husband Mark of Shoals; two great nephews Brenton Orender and his wife Tisha of Plainfield, and Kyle Orender of Plainfield; five great great nieces, Mariah, Ciarah, Ariyah, Delani, and Sari; one great great nephew Braydon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, and one son Donovan Lee Thompson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 29th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Fernando Ortiz, and Pastor Robert Helm officiating. Entombment will follow in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
