Obituary of Louella M. Thomas

Columbus Louella M. Thomas, 89, of Columbus, IN, formerly of Bedford, died at 7:10 am on Friday, January 23, 2004 at Columbus Health and Rehab Center. Born January 12, 1915 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of James and Lestie (McAfee) McDonald. She married William H. Thomas on August 24, 1935 and he died August 3, 1978. She was a beautician and a member of the First Assembly of God and a volunteer at the Bedford Regional Medical Center for over eleven years. Survivors include one daughter, Sondra Bohn of Columbus; one son, Rev. Gary L. Thomas of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Rev. Jeffrey Nikirk of Bedford, Melissa Watkins and David Thomas both of St. Louis, MO; five great grandchildren, Macy, Miley, Brooke, Brittany and Travis and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Gretna Massey, Dorothy Seidle and Thelma Byrd and one brother, Sam McDonald. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 25th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dr. Dennis Turner and Rev. Jeffrey Nikirk officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
