Obituary of Ruth E. Thomas

Indianapolis Ruth E. Thomas, 86, a resident of Lakeview Manor in Indianapolis, formerly of Bedford, IN, died at 6:10 am on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Lakeview Manor in Indianapolis. Born July 22, 1917 in Lawrence Co., IN, she was the daughter of William M. and Lelia Johnson. She married James E. Thomas on July 3, 1941 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford. Survivors include one son, James S. Thomas and his wife, Donna of Indianapolis; one daughter, Sara Roberts of Heltonville; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Johnson of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Arthur Johnson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 29th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Charles Neuman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
