Obituary of Jessie Thomas
Jessie Thomas, 85, a life long resident of Owensburg, passed away at 4:40 P.M. Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Bloomington Hospital.
Born on July 5, 1921 in Owensburg she was the daughter of Jack White and Minnie (Merritt) White. She married Clifford Thomas on March 12, 1938 in Owensburg and he survives. She attended the Owensburg Grade School and High School; worked at Lehmans General Store in Owensburg, retired from RCA Corporation in Bloomington after thirty years and then worked for VIP Fashions. A member of the Owensburg Church of Christ and the Daughters of the American Revolution, she enjoyed reading and cooking.
Surviving with her husband Clifford of Owensburg is one daughter: Joyce Jones and her husband, Jim of Terre Haute, IN; one son: Ron Thomas and his wife, Diana of Springville, IN; two sisters: Mary Ashcraft of Highland, IN and Frances Hanson of Owensburg, IN; five grandchildren: Tom Jones, Jill Jones Hunter; Brian Thomas and his wife, Shannon, Brent Thomas and his wife, Chasidy and Angela Thomas; eleven great grandchildren: Tyler, Britni, Jordan, Kyle, Tanner, Quinn, Devyn, Lauren, Macie, Logan, and MacKena and one great great grandson: Caden. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Wilma Rollins. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 21st from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Paul Guthrie and Don Tirey officiating. Burial will follow in the Owensburg Cemetery. Friends may call at Day & Carter Mortuary on Tuesday, February 20th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Donations Information
