Obituary of Dorothy E. Hudson

Bloomington,IN- Dorothy Hudson, 95, of 7515 South Old State Road 37, Bloomington, died at 2:22pm Friday, December 29,2006 at Bloomington Hospital. Born June 18, 1911 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Hudgin) Butler. She married Harry C. Hudson and he preceded her in death in January of 2001. She had worked at M.Fine & Sons in Bedford, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Greene County. She had attended New Unionville Baptist Church for the last few years. Survivors include one son, Cecil Hudson and his wife Jeanette; two granddaughters, Dottie Powers and her husband Jim of Terre Haute, and Sheri Hudson of Bloomington; two grandsons, Shawn Benham and his wife Melinda of Springville, and Shannon Benham and his wife Donna of Spencer; four great grandchildren, Jeffrey Keene and Jay and Josh Benham, and Shaina Benham; One great great granddaughter Taylor Keene and several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, step-mother Nora Butler, three sisters, Clara Bridwell, Pauline Hawkins, and Nell Harper, and one granddaughter Becky Lawson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 3rd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Shannon Benham officiating. Burial will follow in the Dishman Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 2nd at the Day and Carter Mortuary.
